“Life is sometimes hard. Things go wrong, in life and in love and in business and in friendship and in health and in all other ways that life can go wrong. And when things get tough, this is what you should do. Make art.”

Meet Janaline: Your Guide on this Healing Journey
I am Janaline, a Therapeutic Art Facilitator, certified Art Therapist, Artist, Dreamer, Creator, Teacher, Lifelong Learner, and Explorer—embracing each role on my extraordinary life journey.
My passion lies in helping women who are ready to transform their lives, heal from trauma, and not only survive but thrive. I guide women in defining who they want to become and what they want from life.
Through my support, women learn to show up for themselves, take back control, and move forward, creating a life filled with intent, meaning, connection, and joy.
A Journey of Exploration, Resilience, and Creativity
I grew up on a mini farm in the countryside that sparked my curiosity and love for exploration. My childhood adventures—climbing trees, playing in the mud, and riding bicycles—laid the foundation for a life of creativity and discovery.
My post-graduate journey led me across the globe, from working on a cruise ship in the Bahamas and Caribbean to earning my CELTA certification in Cambridge and living in culturally rich countries like Vietnam, Russia, the UAE, Chile, China, and Japan. Each experience deepened my immersion in diverse cultures and expanded my perspective.
Art has always been a constant in my life. I turned to art during my own experiences of grief, trauma, and anxiety. Painting and journaling became vital outlets as I worked through PTSD and depression. Art became my daily practice, helping me process my experiences and stay grounded.
From Healing to Helping: My Journey to Art Therapy
As someone who has faced the profound challenges of trauma and PTSD, I turned to art and art journaling as powerful tools for healing. These creative outlets became vital in helping me process overwhelming emotions, navigate anxiety, and rediscover a sense of balance and peace.
With five years of sobriety, I’ve gained a deep understanding of recovery and resilience. My experiences have fueled my passion for guiding others on their healing journeys. Through my practice, I provide a safe, compassionate space for women navigating trauma, PTSD, and anxiety, helping them reclaim their strength, find clarity, and build lives filled with intention and meaning.
In 2018, I moved to Shanghai, where I discovered the transformative power of art therapy. By 2020, I was pursuing a career in Art Therapy to give back to society. After relocating to Canada in 2022, I completed my Art Therapy diploma at the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute, merging my lifelong passion for art with a commitment to healing.
My practicum working with women and children was life-changing, showing me the true power of art in healing and communication. Today, I focus on creating a safe and supportive environment where my clients can explore and grow. My goal is to bridge the worlds of art and healing, making a meaningful impact through creativity and compassion.
I believe in…
-
The Healing power of Art
Art is a way to connect with the human experience and with ourselves during times of difficulty and pain. Art helps us to process, listen, and ultimately heal.
-
Being Brave
Don’t let fear paralyze you; instead, trust the creative process despite the fear and discomfort.
-
Having Courage
Show up despite the fear and discomfort, and see where the journey leads you.
-
Life Long Learning
We are all capable of learning, growing, and transforming ourselves and our lives, especially through art.
